Tales of the
Teen Titans |
By
1984, The New Teen Titans had become DC Comics' top-selling
title. It ran neck-and-neck with Marvel's #1-seller,
Uncanny X-Men. DC decided to test the waters of the
direct-sales market with a deluxe-format version of
the Titans, which would better showcase the art of George
Perez.
In April of '84, with issue #41, New Teen Titans became
Tales of the Teen
Titans. New Teen
Titans volume 2 followed in August of that year.
Tales continued showcasing original stories through
issue #58. Issue #59 reprinted the first New Teen Titans
story from DC Comics Presents #26 and with #60 (Dec
'85) began reprinting stories from the deluxe series. |
